NEW 19" Color Raster |
Gottlieb's biggest classic hit that should turn out well when restored. We've yet to restore this game, but expect it to turn out great. We plan on installing new sideart, a new control panel overlay and new artwork directly under the control panel, among other things when we restore.
Game will have a brand new monitor installed prior to completion. The pictures below show a Q*bert we restored in the past. We expect this machine to turn out just as nice.

Overview
Q*bert was Gottlieb’s first and only major hit of the classic era (although the company did release some other games that are very sought after today such as Reactor, Mad Planets and a sequel to Q*bert, Q*bert’s Qubes). The game features a handful of unique characters: Coily, Sam, Slick, Ugg, Wrong-Way and of course, Q*bert. Q*bert’s goal is to change the color of a each square on a pyramid to a common color by hopping on each square. There are nine levels of four rounds in each in the game.
The game was one of the most merchandised of any classic games, probably due to its success and colorful characters. Among items that we’ve seen are Q*bert puzzles, boardgames, a sleeping bag, action figures, a lunchbox and a plush Q*bert.
Coin-Op Overview
The game features a “knocker” which knocks loudly against the game cabinet when a character falls off the pyramid.
