We warranty our restored arcade games for 30 days from the day you receive the game and support our games for as long as you own them. Should anything go wrong with your game during this time, contact us immediately. We will talk you through the process. Frequently, the problem is nothing more complicated than a loose connector, and this type of problem can be addressed via email or over the phone. If necessary, we will have you ship the part back to us. We will either mail you a replacement part, or we will fix the part and return it to you. If we are unable to resolve the problem using this method we will locate a local technician to come out and repair your game.
Bear in mind that these games were built to withstand the abuses of being in an arcade and when we restore our games we replace many of the original parts with brand new parts and take numerous preventative maintenance steps to ensure your game will run for years without incident. For example, we replace the power supply in most games we restore (we find some original power supplies are very reliable, once we rebuild them). We also install new monitors in nearly every game (some games, such as Asteroids and Tempest use monitors that are no longer made. In these cases we rebuild the original monitors). In addition, we remove old power transformers and related wiring that are no longer needed to run the game in many instances. We replace the power switches, power cords and marquee lights in every game we restore as well.
Other preventative maintenance steps vary from game to game, but through our years of experience in working with classic games we have become adept at identifying parts that tend to have a high failure rate and spend the time to replace them. For example, we've found the ribbon cables on the circuit boards of Williams games such as Defender, Robotron and Joust can become weak over time and fail. In every Williams game we restore, we replace these ribbon cables, even if the original cables are still working.
As mentioned above, we support all of our games past our 30-day warranty period and for as long as you own the game. We are always available by phone or e-mail to assist in resolving any issues with your game. We have found that in many cases, problems can be diagnosed just by speaking on the phone and resolved be sending a replacement part.
We stock replacement parts for every game we sell and can usually take your part in exchange for a working part. In the rare case where we don’t a replacement part we can have your part repaired (this generally only occurs with very rare and obscure games that we sell). In general, most parts exchanges past the warranty period range from $50-$125.
